Let God Begin, Let God Finish

How is your faith life the whole year round? Has it been from glory to glory? If that's true, I'm happy for you. You are one of those super saints, perhaps. Congratulations!

But how about the others who haven't experience the same? Have you been struggling with something for the past twelve months? Maybe you have been walking tall in your faith but in a few unguarded moments you have fallen lately, haven't you? Turn around. Move on. Leave the past behind. Thank God that by His infinite love and forgiveness, you are now back on your feet to resume the good fight of faith. Hallelujah!

Whatever the situations you have been through, thank Him anyway. Thank Him for the wonderful things that have happened, but most of all thank Him for the things that haven't happened because of His abundant mercy. The worst things could have happened, but in His sovereignty, they haven't. Praise God!

Now, you resolve to do things in a more God-pleasing manner this New Year.  If you want to see God's promise fulfilled in your life this year, don't manipulate things, or you might give birth to an Ishmael! Ishmael was born because Sarah tried to orchestrate events out of God’s will and timing. Our world has been living with the consequences ever since. Make sure that your plans are born of God's Spirit and fulfilled in His time. Stop fulfilling something you love that's flesh-based.

Remember, “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but...Spirit gives birth to Spirit” (John 3:6 NIV). Learn from Sarah’s mistake. Stop scheming to use something or someone to fulfill what you desire. God doesn’t need help to bless you. He can surely do it by Himself. Let God begin the project in your life and let Him finish it. What God ordains, He sustains!

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" (Philippians 1:6 NIV). Blessings!
